I might have to revise my Top 5 GOP Hypocrites list, because Trent Lott has just been outed, basically, by Gay Escort Benjamin Nicholas — who once objected to Haggard’s boytoy “breaking the code of sillence”.
Awww, aren’t they cute together? Senator Lott, who has been one of the leaders of the Senate and of the Right-wing takeover of the GOP during the two decades, will no longer be able to use his power to thwart gay and lesbian rights.
In all seriousness, there is nothing wrong with being gay — there’s not even anything wrong with being gay and hiding it. That’s your right. But to spend a career bashing gays and manipulating clueless voters into an emotional frenzy over the non-issue of homosexuality — that is disgusting. Especially when people’s basic civil rights (in this case, the right to not suffer discrimination because a condition you are born with) gets trashed in the process.

Scandal: Cheating on wife with numerous men. Caught having phone sex with one of them.

Job: GOP State Congressman from Washington
Advocated: Repealing Gary Rights law.
